It is with deep sadness that we must inform you today that one of the founding fathers of ISAD e.V., Frank-Ullrich Tofahrn, passed away on Tuesday morning at the age of 68. He shaped ISAD e.V. over the course of decades and was always there to offer advice and support to many of you.

For example, Chairman of the Board Bircan Taşlica remembers their first meeting very well:
“[…] That was around 2010. I had a few questions about EN 328, and Frank was always there for me. He was a true expert in his field—I could tell right away. […] Frank will always have a special place in our hearts. He never left me on my own during any ISAD initiative and was always there for us whenever he could. He was a true friend! We will miss him dearly. May God rest his soul!!!“

Senior Consultant Olaf Schwab echoes this sentiment:
“He was my friend and a good partner for many years, and we were also very close on a personal level. It pains me deeply to lose him so soon.
I remember him as a helpful colleague and partner who was always there for us—and for me.”

Our thoughts and sympathies are now with his colleagues, partners, friends, and family, especially his wife and children. Rest in peace, Frank!
