What ISAD e.V. offers you

We are actively involved in shaping all current and future EN standards and regulations for SRD radio applications as representatives of our members and their interests.

The concerns of ISAD member companies have priority in all our activities and negotiations.

That is why we work every day to ensure that frequency spectrum and technologies are optimally usable in the short and especially the long term, and to obtain and secure additional necessary spectrum for your business and the SRD industry.

On this page, we invite you to get to know us as an important forum for the regulation and use of frequencies and for the protection of your radio systems and solutions in the interests of your company.

Our services for members and our work as an industry interest group:

We offer all member companies expert, individual advice and support on the following issues:

• Radio regulations

• Conformity (DoC)

• RED = Radio Equipment Directive and the 'essential requirements'

• Current harmonized EN standards and frequency management in Europe and other ITU regions

• Short Range Device Recommendation - ECC/REC 70-03 and

• Non-European radio use.

The basis of our daily work is our involvement with all relevant organizations and institutions at national and international level when it comes to the preservation and use of frequency bands in the short-range device sector .

We have therefore been working closely with the following organizations for many years

• the DKE K 731 - Working Group 'Radio'

• the ETSI

• the CEPT / ECC

• the European Commission EC

• the Federal Network Agency BNetzA

Thanks to our positioning as an internationally active association and our cooperation with the relevant bodies, our services for you include the up-to-date provision and communication of information and documents on

• current changes to the ETSI EN standards and their availability as well as frequency issues,

• changes in the frequency spectra (e.g. guidelines requiring comment),

• official communications from CEN / CENELEC and ETSI EN Standards from the OJEU (Official Journal of the European Union),

• Decisions of the European Commission on the harmonized use of spectra for SRDs (EC Decisions),

• all ETSI committees such as DECT / M2M / eHealth or Wideband and

• News from national and international committees such as EC / CEPT or ECC.

ISAD e.V. also offers you, as a member, a member support service that regularly informs you by ISAD News Mail about all aspects of our work and draws your attention to current topics and dates.

In our protected member area you have access to the following information, among other things:

• detailed contact details of the ISAD team

• all external contributions and documents from our cooperation partners such as RED / EN standards and drafts

• all ISAD internal documents

• all contents of the current ISAD News Mail

• Details of the ISAD working groups

Another service that is very important to the association is the offer of active participation by members within ISAD through working groups.

We focus specifically on market-specific applications as well as current and future harmonization and regulation of the frequency spectrum.

The following three working groups are currently active:

• WG 1 / SRD Wideband - ETSI TG 11 / TG 41

• WG 2 / Cyber Security - ETSI TG Cyber and RED Security

• WG 3 / SRD generic - ETSI TG 28

We regularly inform all members about the work and processes of the working groups by e-mail.

Communication within the groups takes place via e-mail, each group is assigned a leader.

It is possible to join at any time.

Since January 2008, we have been open to all European companies.

Communication within ISAD is in German, international contributions and documents are in English.

As a member company, you can send as many employees as you wish to all ISAD events.

Especially at technical meetings and workshops, we want to ensure that all areas of your company and business relating to the SRD sector and its developments benefit from our services and the associated work.

Each member company is entitled to one vote at all meetings and votes concerning the association, regardless of the number of employees and representatives within ISAD.

Our national and international position as a competent specialist consultant and active co-designer in the SRD sector is strengthened with every new membership - because only through joint association work can we work towards our goal and thus also for you and the success of your company.
